Certified Lumber - You can help!

Certified Lumber - Understanding the process!

Each and every single board sold by Tebet Lumber and Ipe Roxo comes from a Sustained Managed Forest Project, aproved by Ibama and respected by the lumber extractors. The idea is to preserve the environment and tropical wood species mainly the ones located in the Amazon jungle!

By means of a Sustained Managed Forest Project our Governmental Institution called IBAMA acts as a controller of the areas to be explored so that gorgeous Mother Nature can deliver its brilliant renovation process time after time.

Imagine you have a magic cake which after you take a slice out it will automatically renew itself and the slice will be back there again. All Forest regulators and environmental institutions divide the forest like a cake and define an extraction plan so that the first "slice of the cake" will only be touched again within 50 to 60 years depending on several technical and biological issues, this way Mother Nature has enough time to constantly renew the forests and the wild life around it.

Nowadays most of the wood supply coming out of the states of Mato Grosso and Rondonia come from legal and sustained managed forest projects, due to great dedication and efforts from the IBAMA and the Federal Police of Brazil.
In the last 7 years most of the greedy and immediate people have been devoured by their acts, by this means the actual scenery of the wood supply of Brazil has gained lots of compliments for avoiding ilegal logging and the Environment gains with that as much as we do!

A Great way to help is to always request a document called DOF - which translated into English means - Document of Forestry Origin which is issued by IBAMA and makes sure the lumber does come from a Sustained Managed Forest Project.

The more people request it the more we help save the Amazon Forest and its environment!
